aftermira FAQ
Clear answers about how aftermira connects drink tracking with Apple Health and personal recovery patterns.
What is aftermira?
aftermira is an iPhone wellness app for drink tracking and alcohol recovery insights. It helps you connect drinking with changes in heart rate variability (HRV), resting heart rate and sleep, then shows when those signals return to your personal baseline.
How does aftermira track alcohol recovery?
After a drinking day, aftermira compares available Apple Health signals with your personal baseline. It follows HRV, resting heart rate and Sleep Score for up to seven follow-up days and shows when the available signals have returned to your normal range.
Do I have to log every drink?
No. You can log individual drinks when you want the detail, or use drinking intensity tracking to rate the night as Light, Moderate or Heavy.
What is drinking intensity tracking?
Intensity tracking is a quicker alternative to counting every drink. You choose Light, Moderate or Heavy to record the overall intensity of a drinking night, then aftermira follows what happened to your Health signals afterwards.
What Health data does aftermira use?
When you enable Health access, aftermira can read heart rate variability, resting heart rate, sleep analysis and optional body weight data. HRV, resting heart rate and sleep are used for personal trends, baselines and recovery insights.
How does aftermira calculate my personal baseline?
aftermira uses the previous 30 days of your own Health history. It prefers alcohol-free days when enough suitable samples are available, helping the app compare recovery with your normal rather than somebody else’s generic score.
Does aftermira use Apple Health?
Yes, but Health access is optional. You choose whether to grant access through Apple’s permission system and can withdraw it in iOS or Apple Health settings.
Does aftermira write data to Apple Health?
No. aftermira requests read-only access and does not write, alter or delete Apple Health records.
Is aftermira a medical app?
No. aftermira is a wellness and informational app. It does not diagnose, treat or monitor medical conditions and is not a substitute for advice from a qualified healthcare professional.
Is my Health data stored in the cloud?
HealthKit measurements, Health baselines and recovery state are not stored in aftermira’s CloudKit-backed activity database. A limited current Health snapshot may be cached locally on your device for performance and is excluded from device backup by aftermira. Activity and preference data can optionally synchronise through your private iCloud database.
